We are always looking for ways to improve the quality of our riding lessons. Due to high demand we restructured our riding lessons timetable to suit all levels of rider. In order to maintain a high standard of learning in each lesson we have created new lesson standards.
Please check Children's Riding Lessons and Adults Riding Lessons for more information on new standards and the Timetable for lesson times.
Our aim is to provide progressive educational riding lessons, with an emphasis on safety & enjoyment, thus ensuring your child can develop & learn through our carefully structured tutoring standards. It is essential that each child is seen to achieve each element of the standard on a variety of different ponies, before progressing to the next.
As all children differ in their learning ability, we do not set a timescale in mastering the elements. Some will progress quickly, whilst others may take longer. The most important factor is that elements are repeated and practised regularly. Thus ensuring each child shall have the confidence to, and be comfortable in, applying the correct aids to Stop, Start & Steer. By mastering these 3 elements, your child will have the basis for developing a progressive riding career.
It is our belief young children should be given assistance & support at every stage of learning. For this reason, our younger riders may be allocated a helper, whom offers assistance should a child be lacking in confidence or struggling with any exercises. This should not be interpreted as a backwards step , it simply allows the child to focus on the exercise.
Many children have the ability to canter & jump, but simply lack the strength to take sole charge of their pony. It is more important that your child progresses & develops skills on a leading rein, rather than restricting their development as they are too small. No child shall be forced to do exercises they are not confident with merely for the sake of seeing progression.
